LMC Cookery Demo
20th Apr 2026
Pupils in KS2 had a great treat when Sandra from the Livestock & Meat Commission NI came into school to cook for and talk to the children about the LMC’s ‘Farm to Fork’ initiative.
The demonstration was structured to cover key
learning areas within the curriculum such as Health and
Wellbeing and Care for the Environment.
Sandra talked to the pupils about the farm to fork journey of Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured beef and lamb and explained how our farmers are working hard everyday to produce beef and lamb to the world leading standards that the scheme demands.
The children also got to sample some delicious food, and were kindly given a cook book each, along with some stationery.
An inspiring afternoon that even resulted in Mickey getting his apron on and cooking a lovely dinner for his family from the cook book!
Thank you, Sandra!
