This week the foundation Stage class have been busy preparing for Mother's Day by decorating wooden hearts and making cards for their mummies. In World Around Us they have started a new topic called 'Yum Yum'. They have been learning where their food comes from. They had to sort foods that came from 'plants' and foods that came from 'animals. They listened to the story of The Hungry Caterpillar and made pictures of caterpillars by printing with apples. They also looked a Weight in Numeracy and looked at different kinds of food and sorted them according to whether they were 'heavy' or 'light'. We discussed how some foods are heavier and some are lighter. They used a two -pan balance to compare the weight of different food items.
