As part of their new topic 'Fairytales' the Foundation Stage class have been learning all about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They listened to the story and during play they had the opportunity to make bear masks and decorate bowls for the three bears at the art table. In the house corner they dressed up and pretended to be Goldilocks and the three bears. At the numeracy table they made patterns using compare bears and at the writing table they practised writing words from the Goldilocks story. They made big, small and medium sized bowls, bears and chairs using playdough. At the tough tray they learned about capacity and compared the capacity and size of different containers. They used the ipads painting programme to make pictures of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They used the puppet theatre to retell the story of Goldilocks to other pupils in the class and at the construction corner they built the house for the Three Bears. During literacy they pretended to be Goldilocks and wrote letters of apology to the Three Bears. Also during numeracy they compared the size of the Three Bears and learned how to label different items as large, small and medium.
